Fun with Stop Motion Animation

Hello!

I’ve always had a bit of a longing to make little stop motion animations and I have had a go here and there in the past.  The first time I did one was while (not) doing my homework many moons ago!  I remember taking a series of photographs of a prit stick rocket taking off and the lid falling off to land on some unsuspecting blu tac model of a person – splat!  Ha ha!  I’m not sure the quality of my videos is any better than it was back then but it’s so much fun to try!

I have a couple of little films on my youtube channel – yes I have one of those!  Much to my own surprise too!  I added another one a couple of days ago, this one is showing how to make one of my amigurumi kits and to start off it looks like that’s all it is, but wait for it …….. I have some teeny little helpers turn up!  I hope you have as much fun watching it as I did making it, I do plan to do more in the near future too.

Here is my latest video:

If you wanted to buy one of my kits or my little helpers they are available in my Etsy shop here: https://www.etsy.com/uk/shop/MissGsGorgeousGifts

I also have some in Quillies in Rhayader, Talgarth Mill Craft Shop in Talgarth, Charlotte of Hay in Hay-on-Wye, and The Wyeside Arts Centre in Builth Wells.

Christmas Round Up!

December is marching on!  I’ve not finished doing my Christmas shopping yet have you?

As it’s cold and I’m snowed in today my best bet is some on-line gift shopping, I do enjoy being able to shop from the comfort of my sofa!

Just in case you haven’t finished shopping like me, I have some ideas from my shop that might be just the thing for your loved ones – amigurumi that will deliver that cuteness factor, beautifully crocheted blankets that you know will be treasured for generations and unique bags with loads of personality!

The links at the top of my page will take you directly to my Etsy shop, but you can click on the pictures here too if you like.

Happy shopping!  And of course – a big Happy Christmas from me!!

Getting Ready for Wonderwool Wales 2017

I’m lucky enough to be sharing a stand with Powys Creative again this year at Wonderwool Wales. It’s very exciting, especially as I haven’t seen most of the people I’m sharing with since last year!!

The last couple of months I’ve been busying away trying to get enough stock together – with a few panicky moments along the way too, I’ve still got a few weeks thankfully!

Wonderwool Wales is the weekend of 22nd and 23rd of April and we will be in stall B11.

I’ll be taking with me lots of my little amigurumi creations!

I’m also busy making crochet hook rolls especially for this event.  This picture is of the ones I made last year, as I’m still working on this years lot. I upcycle fabric to make these.

Not only that I’ve set aside next week to make some more knitting and crochet bags, they have all the pockets you could need!  Including a lovely long internal one for knitting needles and crochet hook rolls.

Right, I’ve got a lot of making to do so I’ll be off.

Bye for now!

Is It Spring Yet?

I don’t know about you but I’ve had enough of winter.  It’s time for spring now surely!   My garden is starting to show signs of life so I’m feeling hopeful.

These daffodils do have flower buds hiding away in there somewhere.  Soon then….

As my first lot of craft markets for the year are coming up I’ve also been thinking about Easter, in preparation for this I’ve been busily making little nests for chocolate eggs to nestle in.  My two boys are hoping they don’t sell very well so that they get to eat the eggs – I’m wondering if there might be a couple left for me too!

The nests are adapted from a pattern I found on mooglyblog.com, I recommend you go and look if you enjoy all things crochet!

As well as these I found an adorable little pattern on lookatwhatimade.net (also a very fabulous blog) – little chicks!  I adapted the pattern slightly so that I could CE mark them successfully and added a version of the paisley wings from the larger bird.   They are so cute!!

Well they are the new items I’ve been making, I’ve also been replenishing my stock of amigurumi bunnies.  Keeping to a spring time theme, they’re all in delightful pastel shades!

Not to be outdone by the crochet, the sock bunnies have also requested an appearance – here they are:

I especially love the larger ones ears – they’re enormous!

I’ll be adding a few of my bunnies to my Folksy shop very soon, the ‘shop’ tab in the menu at the top of the page will take you right there.
